Congratulations to Lawrence and Jessica on the arrival of their new baby boy Nathan. He was born this morning at 9:58AM and weighed in at 7 lbs. 8 oz.
This is a great read… Babe, that’s why I need all those toys and gadgets… yeah, that’s the ticket…
I especially liked:
8. GADGETS. Never again will you have to wonder what that new electronic toy is that all the kids have. In fact, your Geek will probably already own it. The problem arises when the Geek won’t share with the children. “Daddy, I want a digital camera.” After the child leaves the room: “I’m not spending hundreds of dollars on a digital camera for him, he’s too young.” I say “Let’s get him a cheap one.” Steve looks at me as if I just said Aliens are invited to dinner. ” To have it take crappy pictures?” He scoffs and walks away in disgust. No sub-par electronics in this house! How dare I suggest it.
Sometimes you should just stay home…
Wednesday afternoon we head down to San Antonio. Just outside San Marcos Isabel got sick. We thought..oh, she’s carsick….well….maybe not; she kept throwing up! We finally got to San Antonio and were there about an hour before we headed to the ER (she kept throwing up after we got to SA). Isabel was dehydrated and going downhill fast! We got to the childrens ER and there were people everywhere! But since Isabel was so sick we got in almost immediately. They put an IV in her and she didn’t even flinch she felt so bad. Poor baby. (There are pictures in the moblog). After about 15-20 minutes, the IV kicked in and she started feeling much better. We finally left around 2 AM and went home. Our first trip to the ER wasn’t too bad thankfully.
Thursday morning we were all tired but feeling pretty good. We went to Johanna and Brian’s new house for turkey dinner. The house turned out great – it is beautiful! Lunch was delicious.
To spare you the rest, I will just say this…everyone that came into contact with Isabel got sick over the next 3 days! When we left San Antonio yesterday, the count was up to 10!
But at least Thanksgiving day turned out good. That we can be thankful for! 🙂
Last Saturday we made the trek down to Austin to celebrate Dylan’s first birthday. The party was a hit. The kids had a blast. Isabel was in heaven with all the toys! Kat threw a great party!
We got to hang out with Lyndon, Kat, Law and Jess. It was nice and relaxing. It is so different now that we all have kids. Its so funny how priorities change. I guess it’s all part of growing up! Pretty soon we will all be on round 2 with the kiddos.
We had brunch at Trudy’s before heading back to Dallas on Sunday morning. MIGAS!! They are the best!
It was a fun weekend. And thankfully Isabel slept on Ricardo and not me this time in the hotel!! 😀 But at least she slept until 7…that is always nice!
A big thanks to Kathie and Lyndon…

We had some drama at the house last night. I had just given Isabel a bath and was walking back in the living room and noticed Jessie (our dog for those who don’t know) was throwing something up in the air out in the backyard.
I went out to look and I saw what looked like a little mouse. Upon closer inspection, it turns out to be 5 baby bunnies. They were so small, didn’t even have thier eyes open yet. They were about 3 inches long. I uncovered thier little den when I mowed the grass this past weekend.
I find that two of them seem to be unharmed but the other three had bite marks in them. We get them all inside and put them in a shoebox with some soft towels to keep them warm. One of them seemed to be hurt pretty bad and we thought for sure it was dying. They were so small they really couldn’t even move much.
Then we start making phone calls. I must have called close to 10 places. It was after 7 so most places were closed and I got a lot of answering machines. I did talk to one person who said that someone could come pick them up but they would charge us for it so I thought I would try some other places first before it came to that. I then talked to someone who said to put them back and thier mom would come take care of them but we would have to keep Jessie out of the yard (not really an option). So we then called the North Texas Animal Rescue and they gave me a few numbers to call. So finally I called DFW Wildlife and talked to a really nice guy named Percy. He said he figured the bunnies were no more than 2 weeks old. He said that he and his wife could take them in. So I met his wife at a gas station and handed the bunnies over.
Percy called me this morning and told me that all 5 bunnies are doing well and the one we thought was going to die was very perky. Yea!!! That made my day!
So that was our adventure last night. Hopefully the bunnies will make a full recovery and lead long and happy lives…hehehehe 😀
Yes, we are still here and yes, we are still trying to update the website. With the new job position, it has been increasingly difficult to post on the site. Also, with the freaking landscaping we’ve been doing every weekend (and last night).
Here’s a quick update…
This past weekend was Mikey, Nicolas, Ysabella and Diego’s birthday celebration. On Friday it was Mickey and Nicolas’ at Chuck E. Cheese or as I fondly call it…Hell… Tommie hung out with her Mom ans Sister so I took Isabel by myself. Let me tell you, i was there for 30 minutes and I already had a headache. How the people that work there not go crazy after a week puzzles me. But, after that, it was fun to see Isabel run around and play. She mostly played in the toddler area and went up and down the slide about a million times. On Saturday, Ysabella and Diego’s birthday party was at Toys R Us. Isabel had a blast there too running around the store with the other kids in a scavenger hunt and then pigging out on pizza and cake. (Pictures to come)…
The landscaping is coming along pretty good. Last night we were able to put down newspaper (to prevent weeds) and pine chips on half of the landscaping area. Yes, you read that right: last night. We were talking about it at about 8PM last night how we should take advantage of Tommie’s Mom being there and try to do some of the work. I got in my truck, went to Home Depot and bought 20 bags of pine chips. The cool thing was that it only took us about an hour to do half the area. After work today I’m going to pick up a few more bags of wood chips and see if we can finish the other half. Tommie is going to try to finish the island this weekend since that part still needs to get raked.
Let’s see… cycling is not going so good… haven’t put any real miles in and on top of that, the last 2 times I’ve tried to go out riding I’ve gotten a flat 2 miles out. It sucks cause I’ve gotta stop and change a flat and also I gotta head back cause I only carry 1 spare tube. i gotta figure out what’s going on with that tire. I checked it both times and I didn’t see anything that could cause the flat. Unless it’s just really bad luck.
Well, that’s it for now…talk to y’all soon…
A great big congratulations to Brian. Our brother in law is officially the new head football coach at Taft High School in San Antonio. Go Raiders!!

I hate being sick…
My throat had been scratchy the last few days and had the sinking feeling that I had picked up Isabel’s cold. Yesterday and last night we get confirmation. Right now, I have a cough that willl not go away and a cough that kept me awake last night, pretty much all night…
So tired…feel so crappy…Happy Monday! 🙂
A social promotion no doubt but I have finally (after 6 months) moved up to the Advanced Beginner II tennis class……..
I start my new class next Monday.
I will keep you posted as to when I will be playing in the French Open later this year…
